IIJ GIO Infrastructure P2 Gen.2 is an enterprise Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and VPS offering from Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ). It targets mission-critical systems, SaaS platforms, and regulated workloads that need more than a consumer-grade VPS.

The platform follows a hybrid model that mixes public virtual servers, private VMware-backed resources, and shared storage. Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) support lets teams keep existing on-premises network designs when they migrate. Virtual servers come in best-effort, performance-guaranteed, and single-tenant dedicated tiers across East and West Japan regions.

Windows Server
System images cover Windows Server alongside several Linux distributions (Rocky Linux, AlmaLinux, Ubuntu, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux). That lets .NET and Linux-based stacks run side by side on the same platform.

Snapshots
Multi-generation snapshots are retained for virtual servers, giving operations teams point-in-time recovery for failed updates or data loss. Live migration handles maintenance without downtime, and a REST API covers programmatic provisioning and server management.

IIJ GIO P2 holds System and Organization Controls (SOC) 1 and SOC 2 reports and Information System Management and Assessment Platform (ISMAP) registration. It was also the world’s first IaaS cloud provider to gain Binding Corporate Rules (BCR) approval for cross-border data handling.

Japanese is the primary language for the control panel and support channels, with partial English coverage in documentation and inquiry support for international teams.
