IIJ ID Service is an identity as a service (IDaaS) platform from IIJ, a network and IT infrastructure provider. It offers single sign-on to services that support SAML 2.0 or OpenID Connect 1.0, along with multi-factor authentication. IIJ operates it in data centers in eastern and western Japan.
Integrated Windows authentication, a paid option, lets users logged on to Active Directory (AD) reach connected services without signing in again. For Microsoft 365, the service also syncs IDs with license information. Administrators can set separate sign-in conditions for each user inside and outside the company network.
FIDO2
Users can sign in without a password through Windows Hello, Face ID, Touch ID or a YubiKey security key. FIDO2 and the other second factors require the SSO plus MFA plan.
Device Certs
Only devices that hold a device certificate can sign in.
AD Sync
AD IDs, passwords and groups sync to the service automatically through a module installed in the AD environment. Sync from LDAP and Microsoft Entra ID is also included.
ISMAP
The service is registered under the Information system Security Management and Assessment Program (ISMAP), the government’s security assessment for cloud services. It also holds ISO/IEC 27017 cloud security certification.
Pricing is per ID and does not change with the number of connected services. Orders go through a quotation and a written application.
