IDCF Cloud is a public cloud from IDC Frontier Inc., a SoftBank Corp. subsidiary. It offers virtual machines, dedicated servers, managed databases, load balancers and object storage. Businesses can sign up online without contacting sales.

Billing is hourly with a monthly cap, so a server running all month never costs more than its cap. All disks use flash storage. If a physical host fails, its virtual machines restart automatically on another host.

The managed database service runs MySQL or PostgreSQL with automatic backups. Infinite LB is a load balancer that adds capacity by itself as traffic grows, and a managed Kubernetes service for running containers is also available.

The East Japan region in Shirakawa (Fukushima) and the West Japan region in Kitakyushu (Fukuoka) are fully separate, down to their internet connections. Each region is divided into zones with their own servers, storage and power.

GPU BOOST machines give one customer a whole server with a Tesla P100 GPU, for deep learning and other heavy computing.

Cloud Storage is object storage built on Google Cloud Storage. It accepts requests through an Amazon S3-compatible API, and all stored data is encrypted.

IDCF Cloud is registered under the Information system Security Management and Assessment Program (ISMAP), the Japanese government’s security assessment for cloud services. It also holds ISO/IEC 27017 cloud security certification.
