FJcloud-V is a public cloud from Fujitsu Limited, formerly known as NIFCLOUD. Built on VMware vSphere, it is designed for companies that want to move their on-premises VMware systems to the cloud with few changes.

VM Import brings existing VM images over unchanged. Live Migration uses VMware’s HCX tool to move running VMs without downtime. A site-to-site VPN can stretch the on-premises network into the cloud, so servers keep their IP addresses.

If a physical server fails, its virtual servers restart on another one automatically, and an uptime guarantee applies even to a single server. Customers who need more isolation can reserve dedicated hardware or have a private FJcloud-V installed in their own data center.

New customers sign up through Fujitsu Cloud Direct. They create a user ID online, submit an order form and pass an application review before service starts. A free trial is available without a user ID.

FJcloud-V has East Japan and West Japan regions, each with several zones, so a backup site can run in another part of the country.

Object storage accepts requests through an Amazon S3-compatible REST API.

FJcloud-V is registered under the Information system Security Management and Assessment Program (ISMAP), the Japanese government’s security assessment for cloud services. Fujitsu states that data in its regions falls only under Japanese jurisdiction, outside the reach of foreign requests such as the US CLOUD Act.
