JPDirect is a domain registrar run directly by Japan Registry Services (JPRS), the organization that manages all .jp domains. As the only service where users buy .jp domains straight from the registry, it offers a level of trust and security that third-party registrars cannot match, making it well suited for corporations, government agencies, and schools.

The platform supports business JP domains (.co.jp, .or.jp), standard .jp domains, prefecture-based JP domains, and common extensions like .com. Domains and SSL/TLS certificates can be managed together through one dashboard. Transferring a .jp domain to JPDirect is free, and companies can reserve .co.jp domains before they are officially incorporated.

DNSSEC signing keys can be set up directly from the dashboard, adding protection against DNS tampering. JPDirect also offers registry lock, where the registry itself blocks changes to domain settings, giving the strongest available defense against unauthorized modifications.
