au Car Navigation is a smartphone car navigation app jointly developed by KDDI and NAVITIME Japan. It provides voice-guided turn-by-turn directions, live traffic data (via Japan’s VICS broadcast system) updated every minute, and congestion forecasting. Routes take vehicle height and width into account, helping drivers avoid restricted roads and passages with limited clearance.

Map data can be downloaded to the device, so route search and voice navigation keep working in tunnels, mountainous areas, and other places without cell signal. The app also includes speed camera alerts and real-time parking availability near destinations.

Ponta Pass members get complimentary access to paid features on a rotating basis, and the Premium plan adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support for in-vehicle displays.
